This new program seeks to connect research with the real needs of industry, the public sector, and civil organizations through applied research and technological development.
The objective of the Doctoral Program in Engineering and Technology is to train Doctoral programs of excellence, with the competencies and skills necessary to generate, apply, and transfer knowledge in one of the research areas of the Program to strengthen the technological and productive capacities of industries in the public or private sector, contributing to the economic and social development of the country.
To obtain the academic degree of Doctor of Philosophy in Engineering and Technology, students must demonstrate the following competencies:
Systems and ProcessesEncompasses projects that require advanced study of how the parts of an arrangement of components, material or conceptual, relate to each other and how this interaction leads to producing a desired or undesired result. |
Sustainability and InfrastructureEncompasses projects based on the advanced study of facilities and systems that are fundamental to the functioning of a society or community, with a focus on maintaining functionality over time, both in typical conditions for the system and in the face of extreme events. |
Information and TechnologyEncompasses projects based on the advanced study of the techniques, methods, and skills necessary to meet an objective rooted in the availability, quality and meaning of information about a system and/or process. |
